Happy January

Let's just twist the cap off of 2008 and start fresh, shall we?  The last few weeks are a medicated fog anyway.

Here is a peek at a little apron I made for a friend in Vancouver... I added vintage eyelet trim from a curtain I found thrifting -- and I love how it finishes the bottom.

PhI also made her a matching potholder/hotpad thingie, with a vintage button.  This was my first attempt at machine quilting like this and I can see how it can be addicting.  I did not use a walking foot, and I think that it why it puckered so... I had more fun trying to decide which way to center the fabric for the cut.  The potholder/apron/dishtowel (Sorry, Nat! I ran out of time for that one!)  trio may be a new favorite gift-to-give for me...

Also, a big M-I-Z-Z-O-U shout-out to my beloved Missouri Tigers.  We drove down to Dallas for the Cotton Bowl and had a wonderful time.

Good Heavens my glasses are huge when my hair is all mushed down on top my my head with Mr Pink's woolly cap!  It was chilly and I caught a little something, but it was worth every minute.  Fun Stuff!  Oh, and the steak dinner at Del Frisco's for New Year's Eve the night before was fah-bu-lous... I might not eat for a couple weeks still.

Here's to health, happiness, good friends and new memories in 2008!

I absolutely love this apron & potholder set! The colors are wonderful! Not sure how I found your blog, but am enjoying my visit. Oh, and about the puckering, I just think it makes it look more quilt-like, not a bad thing. :-)
