I'm 5 days out from our third weekend event. I feel like I'm picking up on a rhythm, figuring out what works for our customers, in my space and with my time constraints. It's a delicate balance some days.
Last month was one for the books. It was 105 degrees for three days. No A/C. No breeze. We brought extra clothes to change throughout the day. And needed them. We guzzled water and it hardly seemed to help.
But the customers ... they came! And, in one of the typically slowest months of the year, in record breaking heat, they supported the vintage markets at the West Bottoms like rockstars!
It comes as no surprise to me that delicious vintage sheets of all colors and sizes sell like hotcakes. However, they are not easily contained when just stacked upon small tables and whatnot. They have been giving me fits with their topsy-turviness and sloppy slipping and flopping about.
One of my fellow vendors had this darling hutch in her shop last month and I just knew that it was a perfect solution. I love that it has both open and closed storage. I painted her blue, knowing the linens would pop against it well in the darkish corner of my booth space. The doors open to more linens and I will be bringing even more sets in the next few days.
I have to be honest, my everything-in-its-place-loving heart was singing as I stacked those sheets in a proper place. I know I'm supposed to sell this piece... but I'm not sure how much it would take for me to part with it!
-----------------------
I've been collecting all sorts of forlorn and tattered pieces, ready to turn them into something fun and pretty and useful. I should totally be showing before and afters, huh?
Like, totally.
Dad and I are so excited about visiting your shop next weekend!

Oh, the parting with would be hard. That blue is gorgeous! I hope your next weekend is cooler, but I would have shopped! We're a crazy breed! Good sales, lady!
