She's sitting over there. All pretty and perfect like. Whispering 'I want to play. Turn me on and behold my many stitches! Let's make some pretty things!"
My new Singer came today. It's nothing terribly exciting for most people, I guess. The 7462. 30 stitches and an automatic threader. Auto-tension. It's so quiet! My old Brother (which was a piece of crap, but I refuse to sling insults at it because in 11 years and it never, until recently, did me wrong) made quite a racket.
The Joann's people said it could take up to 2-3 weeks. That was Monday. So you can imagine my surprise when the UPS guy dropped it off today with a smile. OMG! I was ready to kiss that man. Especially because I was still in such a great mood after finding all those yummy things while thrifting!
I did take her out of the box. And wound a bobbin. And threaded the machine. And finished a slipcover for my day planner. But I really need to get some *work* work done.... So.
What a day! Maybe it's because I'm wearing one of my favorite swirly skirts and threw on a vintage necklace for good measure. A friend of mine says I should wear jewelry more often. Maybe she's right!
XO
